We from the CMLGroup want to introduce the first interactive film project. You will see a film in two weeks called "mapfilm". This film contains a loop of my travel path to the UK. I will assign annotations on the mapfilm to the films.
Here is a short diagram of the structure. (Made by graphviz)
Brighton and Big Air Special video are already assigned.
cheers.

BA 908 released
The CMLGroup proudly announce the release of the
BA 908 video.
Since August, 6th, I'm back in Germany. The flight was awesome. I've flown from Heathrow to Frankfurt. A year ago, I went to Frankfurt with a camera for the first time.
Video description:
Flight 908 was also a great one. I've been one of the first passengers aboard this plane. We've departed from A11. Unfortunately I've caught only a seat at the aisle.
As you may guess I love flying much. I hope that I get next fly next year. After the flight you will see an ET 420 of the RMV. Public Transport and Air travel mix up great.

Legal dispute with UMG
Half a year after the dispute with GoDigital, another music label (UMG) is claiming rights on the US-Sign on video. My German fans wouldn't see that video. To avoid this I've decided this:
I'll put this video down and I'll replace it with another version.
That means: This video will be deleted and replaced by a newer version of the video.
I've found a version of the US anthem on wikipedia. The rest of the video will remain the same.
The next project will be: Gear Box exhange.

Big Air Bungee special video released
The CMLGroup proudly announce the release of the
Big Air Bungee Special Video
Right on CML01HD (English Main channel), it is ready to be seen. Four times doing this thing seems to be boring and waste of money, but I had only one day there. Why not doing more. This video comes without music. The only sound is my sound logo and the environmental surrounding.
Video description:
Super cool thing in Brighton (Sussex). Never done this before that point. Almost messed up my pants when I stood there and got strapped up. Note: this video is a raw video. No music in this video. But who don't want to see me jumping, you can return to the main video and enjoy the pier.
For future flyers: You will like the feeling of weightlessness.
See ya next week.

Train trip to Brighton released
This can you call the heart piece of my travel to the UK. A few months ago, I saw videos from Brighton and the Bungee stuff. This made me going to Brighton. Originally, I wanted to make a roundtrip. If it happened, you would also see Blackpool and other nice cities of the UK.
Before considering to go to London, I've seen some videos from Brighton. Original, this journey was planed as a round trip, going first from London to Brighton. This is a left over of it. Like in Belgium and unlike in Germany, trains are driving on the left hand side. Stations are more cleaner and better managed than in Germany. The best way to get to Brighton is going from Victoria or Tower Bridge in London. I've picked Victoria (VIC) due to the proximity to my hotel. You are traveling so 1 hour, passing Croydon (ex London Airport) and Gatwick. The overall cost of this roundtrip was £22.50 in standard class. The seats were comfortable.
My stay in Brighton includes: The visits of the pier, the downtown and the bungee catapult. I've done the last one exactly four times.
Brighton is known as a city with a lot of language schools. I've met a large German group of English learning fellows at the catapult.
Well, next week, you will see the four sessions on the catapult.
cheers Have a nice day

"One week in London" released and a status Update #4
Oh well: Never thought to get to the UK once. Normally, we flew over en route to the USA/Canada.
Description:
What a blast! Never thought that the UK were so cool. I've spent one week in London and one day in Brighton. Traveling by train is a hassle even though you have the euro tunnel. Bus wasn't also an option, so I've picked the Aircraft.
Ok, about my week in the UK: I've booked a single room near the BBC headquarter in the Shepherd's Bush Road. I've spent partly walking and partly traveling on Underground and Overground as well as bus on a 7 day ticket.
I've got some more videos.
Enjoy.
Status Update #4
Work due to upload:
-Bungee Brighton
-BA908
-Hyde Park Documentary
-Gearbox exchange
Queued work
- Engine replacement in pictures
new projects: TBA
-work that need special permission (party of two) TBA.
-Audi restoration project (works are halted)
-Audi hits the road again (works are halted)
Disclaimer:
We do not warranty that work will be uploaded. Work may be delayed or canceled because of lacking footage and time without any further notice. We don't give any dates or times, not to disappoint you.

"Flight to London" is released.
Even though the cellphone video is older than the flight to the UK, I've decided to put in first the cellphone and then the UK series. It was supposed to be my first UK stay and it turned out first as a disaster. "You won't be on BA 903." BA tried to turn it better to rebook me on BA 8733. After that the disaster wasn't that bad.
As said: dedicated to all friendly people from the UK.
Flight from Frankfurt (FRA-EDDF) to London City (LCY-EGLC) with the first ever Embraer 170 of BA Cityflyer (G-LYCD).
My story: I was booked on BA 903 (Boeing 767 normaly) that day. But this day (JUL 30 2010), the daily B767 service was somehow broken this day. The amazing ladies at Frankfurt managed a rebooking to BA 8733. This was my flight then to London. Bad for me, as a 767 fan. But Delta's two 767-300s with winglets compensated this a little bit;)
The journey duration is 1:30 hour.
United Kingdom isn't that bad. In the next few weeks, I will upload more videos about London and Brighton.
ENJOY.

Over 18 Volts
OMG, the generator of my bus conversion produced about 18 Volts of current. What the hell. (Calm down)
One week after my last posting here, I want to tell you that my dad has started the thing for the first time and we have moved the car around the village. During that time we drove, our voltmeter caught our attention. It showed over 16 Volt from the generator. For a car like this it's high. A normal generator produces 14 Volts for a 12 Volt battery.
We've replaced the regulator twice for the generator and it works now fine. Driven about 7 km / 4 miles today with the bus, the new engine sounds now less loud, is cleaner and has a lower mileage. What is now left is the legal stuff which includes the correction of paperwork.
If you have a faulty JX engine, go and replace it with a golf Diesel motor.
The AAZ has a total of 74 HP, while the JX has only 68 HP. If you combine the AAZ with a 5 gear box, you can drive over 100 KPH (so 60 MPH).
This post concludes the replacement process. Images from the last few days will be put in the next few days.
We will include all images into a slideshow.
Thank you and see you on Youtube.

"How to cellphone abroad" is released.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BlKWfiD9gYg
I've done this video two months ago. But I've never had the opportunity to release it (See why are there not more videos)
Plot:
When I was in the UK, I had the idea to make a video about phoning abroad. I was always confused, how to config (I use my cell very rarely abroad, because holiday is holiday. Roaming fees are very high.)
To get started, you have to be over the border. Switch on your phone and wait until your home phone provider sends you an SMS about your opportunities.
Check your current credit, code is mentioned in the SMS. Phone relatives in your origin to top up your credit (by Eurocash card EU only, for ATM ask your operator), if needed. Don't forget to predial 0049 for German phone partners. If needed update your preferences in the phone's phonebook. All other countries have assigned country codes. They can be obtained here:
http://countrycode.org/
More updates on the engine thing soon.

Updates 10/10/10 Engine
My favourite posting here: 10-10-10. We've stepped forward in the conversion from 1.6l to 1.9l.
Yesterday we've reassembled the turbocharger, cooling system and some hoses.
As you can see, the engine conversion is nearly finished. We need to reconnect all electric stuff, filters and exhaust system. Some other sources are reporting that an oil cooler is also needed. First power on is supposed to be in one week, the revenue voyage is also supposed in one week. You will see a slide show at the end (if iMovie behaves well).
Here we have some images from yesterday:
Engine conversion: time to improve. The bus' tube was too unhandy and too short. Solution: Make it fit by dividing and refitting the pieces.
Close up. The right tube is from the Golf, the left from the bus.
Parts to connect.
The engine.
Meow!
Cooler container installed.
Bus oil pen + gear box
The turbocharger installed from the bus.
Oil pump from the bus.
One last modification (for that day).
Golf III dipstick tube end fitted on a bus T3 dipstick tube.
That's it for today.

The engine is now mounted.
We have a lot of updates on the engine change thing.
One week ago, we've picked an AAZ engine to replace my old and broken CY engine.
Now we've mounted it to the new gear box, reusing the old disk from the CY. The old engine mounts and some bus parts are also reused.
Steps need to do now:
New disk installed.
After twenty years (three years in my hand) of service in my car this engine isn't capable to perform more routes.
A chain and an old seat belt serve as lifter aid.
Engine freshly lifted and installed.
Engine just mounted and fixed.
Stay tuned for more.

Replace the oil pen after oil change, the oil pump from the bus must be fitted in, too.- New oil must be filled in.
Reconnect all hoses- Reconnect all cables
- All remaining parts must be reinstalled.
- The exhaust pipe must be reinstalled.
- An expert has to take a look over our conversion.
- All hush kits must be reinstalled. (The car can basically run at this point at daily bases. The mechanical conversion is completed then.
- The car has to be taken to state inspection and the papers must be corrected. (The legal conversion is completed at this point.)

Habemus Motor
"Habemus Motor". A dear friend sold an AAZ engine to us. Here are images of the arrival and part out of the engine.
Arrival:

The doomed next to the new: 1.6l (left)
1.9l (right). The 1.9l has triumphed again.
A few weeks ago: The JX is still built in. Here can you see the Oil pen, which we assembled a few months ago. Don't worry, it will be reused. Some parts are interchangeable.
5 gear box
That's for now.

Updates on the engine and why are there not more videos?
The old JX engine is now built out and we are awaiting a donor "heart" for my bus.
One wrecker wanted to sell a VW Rabbit Mk 4 TDi engine. Unfortunately, I've missed some parts of the removal of the engine, so I will only do a video about the beginnings of removal and the inserting of the new engine and ongoing modifications.
Question: Why are there not more videos?
Answer: We are living in a part of the world, where the internet is so slow, that you want to send your videos directly to Youtube by snail mail. I've got a friend, who has a faster connection, but our meetings are rare. The problem is that you can wait for hours at 300 Mbps download and less than 100 Mbps download. Since I'm a student, I've got the possibility to solve this via TV cable, but I'm rarely there in summers. College will resume shortly and I will be able to upload new stuff. If I'm meeting my friend earlier, stuff will be earlier there. The project CanadianMapleLeaf01 isn't dead. Just wait for more updates on Twitter or here. We are not on modem, but our phone company is refusing any upgrade to our internet experience. Ok, we want to deliver quality.

Well it looks like this we have to change something
JX reworks will not be come out as planned. JX is an engine type by Volkswagen, which was built in VW rabbit/Golf MkII (as id CY/JR), Passat/Quantum Mk2 (also id CY), VW Vanagon / Type 2 T3 (as id JX), Jetta (as id CY/JR) and Audi 80 (CY). Mine is a modified Passat CY, only retrofitted with bus parts (a "JX"). After weeks of gasket exchanges and other stuff, we wanted to start this car and... it stalled every time. We have applied start pilot and violá it starts but with bad exhaust (grey fumes). Brought this car into a garage, the mechanic says: "Replace it! There is not enough underpressure for getting a Diesel started." After twenty years of service at several German community services, the engine has more that 100,000 km clocked. The pistons are maximum size and the holes in the piston head are also trilled up to max size. In other words: We need another engine. Too much cracks in the head between the pistons are making it impossible to build up underpressure.
I've driven with it the multiply distance from Frankfurt to San Francisco, if you calculate it. Pretty hard for an engine. People are saying that this engine can bear up to 300,000 km before complete replacement. Did you hear: 300,000 km!
There are multiply possibilities. First: Get another JX/CY/JR engine and retrofit it. Hey! Far too expensive.
Second: Get a AAZ-engine (from a Golf/Rabbit Mk3) and reengine your car. advantages : More power. Fuel economy is the same as JX. The difference is: The JX is 1.6litres turbocharged. The AAZ is 1.9litres and also turbocharged. Would be a better choice.
Third: Leave Volkswagen and get a third party engine from Subaru or Mitsubishi. Who pays for such an engine? My car came as an original and it should have an "original" engine. Not a Japanese engine.
So there will be a video with an engine replacement and another one with the JX engine. That's for sure.
So the future title will be... JX reworks and engine replacement.
Due to the lack of footage, we can't publish any work on the engine. I've made a video replacing my 4 gearbox with a 5 gear box yesterday.
I will do a video with replacement of the engine. Yesterday, we have begun to disassemble the old engine.
But the new five gearbox is working fine....
Take care. Stay tuned. Good bye.

iMovie '09
Our set has been enhanced to a new piece of software, called iMovie. We will also keep on doing stuff via Sony Vegas, but iMovie has priority. I've experienced many pieces of software: buggy like Windows Movie Maker, working like Sony Vegas, sometimes buggy like iMovie. Did anyone notice that this software, has no save/save as option in the menu "file"? You have to shut it down for saving your project. If it freezes crashes, your last made changes won't be saved. Don't try to play it in full screen. The reason, why I didn't tossed it, is: It can make the most professional look a like movies, I've ever seen before.
I've made a 3 minute documentary on this project, this took 4 days to make it.
There will be more videos posted, of course in HD Quality.
CU on youtube.
