Video series concluded

By the upload of the last video of our Canada series, this season has come to an end for 2011. Another year passed. Thank you for your loyality into the new brand. We have search for ages for a brand and logo.
Another change for the next year will be the introduction of CMLHanguk. Our sister blog Roadmap to CMLHanguk will show you in the upcoming months the important milestones in the foundation of a new channel. Remember, on February 1st we are set to go.... Annyohikaseyo.....

Two new videos uploaded and enhanced language support

Hello,

we have added new videos about our stay in Canada. One is about our trip from Smiths Falls to Kingston, ON and one is about our border crossing to Weedsport, NY.

Also we will support the Korean language on our channels. Don't be harsh, I'm a learner (yet!).

Next week I will upload all last 6 remaining video for 2011. 2 videos à 3 days. This will conclude our video series for 2011. Thank you for being here in 2011. I hope we can see each other in 2011. From my site I will say good bye due to future exams. Stay tuned on twitter here on the CMLblog. In 2012, we will post a new sign off video. Then we will really sign off until Mid-february. The annually Frankfurt trip will take place and a video about the Lollsfest 2011 will be done. Maybe I will also add something about our stay at Berlin, Germany. Let see what happens in 2012, may be we will be in Canada again. Also in February, we will found a new subsidairy called "CMLHanguk" which will feature Korean language videos only.

As some people have noticed that we have put all comments going through our products under moderation. I think that will turn on the comments on this site, too, but only with approval. We don't need any discrimination, profanity (at least put an asterisk (*) over one letter) and  bullying.

Blog layout update

Flight to Canada published (video)

Air Transat's old A310 flew us from Frankfurt to Toronto. Not bad for a charter airline. Despite an 2 hour delay, we had a good time aboard. We were very late that evening didn't managed to do something in Toronto.

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has announced a new feature, which will cause a lot of controversies in future. After the launch of the face recognition feature recently, Facebook will now introduce a feature which follows the user's life. The so called wall will be abolished and replaced by the new feature. People on Facebook have to update this page, this is no joke, from the beginning of their lives. Zuckerberg himself started with posting a baby photo of him.

Now the question to all:
How far will this go? Why did it go so far? Is privacy counting for you more or getting virtual friends? Get real. People are not found on facebook, these are zombies (Sorry, but the truth hurts.). Also if you search "Facebook party and Thessa". A 16 year old girl creates a public event for her birthday by accident in Hamburg and over 3,000 people came..... No further comments.

If your privacy counts for you more, get out of facebook. The CML and it's founders won't join this network, but we are seeking the opportunity to join Google+ later. Be aware more about your privacy. Facebook is better than a police computer.

Some notices for the next couple of months

We have decided to do a small break at the beginning of the next year. Maybe we will also catch one of the flights to Canada next year to get more Timbits and Canadian Tire Money.

So we will close it down for so three four months.

We will start with the uploads in a few weeks.

This is the CML and we are out now.

There is no way around 720P....

We can't go HD1080i, because there are some errors during rendering the files in Sony Vegas. Until I have found an zero-error solution we will render all stuff in 720P. That is until further notice. Thank you very much. We are able to record in HD1080i, but we can't render in these dimensions.

Canada

If you guys wondered, why there are no Canadian videos on this site yet, I've got now the cure. I was now in Canada, still fighting with the jetlag. We did a roadtrip through Ontario, Quebec and New York.
In the next weeks and months, you will learn what we did there....

#1080: An era goes to it's end. CML goes Full-HD (1080)

Ladies and Gentlemen,

we will purchase a new camcorder this tuesday. We have to delay the operation switchover by 24 hours. The 720P-Aiptek camcorder will be retired by then and will be used as backup after this date. The new camcorder will have the ability to produce Full-HD videos. For people with a slower internet connection we suggest you to use the lower numbers. We will also keep up our Syndication policy for Apple TV and cell phones. 

As you may noticed, we have retired also the rating system on Youtube and only people who are friends can post messages on my channels. We want to prevent spamming and scamming. Legitimate Messages however, will be approved. There will be no censorship but we have something against: "Post this in 10 videos and you will save your mom."

Ratings are not saying anything about the quality of a video. The stars were great, but since we have thumbs, these messages are appearing: "Thumb up, if you think...." and "10 people are ****** ****** haters."

The stars gave me a feedback, how I should design my videos, but since we have no more stars, I have a no more feedback.

Then there is no feedback like the hotels are getting (7 star hotel, 3 star hotel, but why no more 5 star videos or 1 Star videos?), there is no need for thumbs.

It would be funny, if a hotel gets a thumb instead stars.

GERMAN/DEUTSCH Wir sind auch wieder hell.

CMLAllophone hat eine laengere Pause hinter sich, weil wir in der letzten Zeit viel zu tun hatten. Zum einen der Relaunch der neuen Marken CML Canadian Broadcasting, CML Kanadischer Rundfunk und CML Television du Canada, als auch privat. Wir sind wieder stolz ein deutschsprachiges Video rausgebracht zu haben. Da dies ein internationaler Blog sein soll, gibt es hier auch einen deutschen Eintrag. Für die einen, die bemängeln, dass es zu wenige Englische Beteiligung gibt, sollten einen Blick in den Hauptkanal werfen. Der CML KRF hat nun eine Reise nach Kassel unternommen und erzählt also die Geschichte rückwärts. Dieses Video ist der beste Beweis dafür, dass man sehr viel Quatsch machen kann. Ich habe auch einige Easter eggs versteckt.... Leider auch ein paar kleinere Fehler.

Egal hier ist das neue Video von CML KRF und wir freuen uns auf den einen oder anderen Klick. In diesen Video stecken zirka 1 Tag Reise, 2 Tage bearbeitung, 3 Stunden rendern und 30 Minuten Uploadzeit.

Ich finde, dass es sehr wenige deutschsprachige Videos gibt, wenn es welche gibt, dann wird bemängelt, dass das Video nicht auf Englisch sei und man doch bitte Englische Untertitel machen sollte.Warum nur macht man sich nicht Mühe, die Englische Ausgabe selber zu suchen und den Leuten, die das Video geniessen wollen, auf die Nerven zu gehen und auch mal ein Nein zu akzeptieren?

Ich gehe ja auch nicht in ein Englisches Video rein und frage : "Warum ist das nur in Englisch, nächstes mal Deutsche Untertitel." Wozu habe ich dann Englisch gelernt?

Important statement about Youtube Partners and their hype around them

Dear fellow Youtuber with few videos and few subscribers,

Youtube is a rough place. Everybody is putting hard work into hard money. Some guys are making false thumbnails, misleading titles and posting videos in wrong categories. Some other guys are doing honest work and are getting money for good things. Other guys are so famous, that the freedom of speech is no longer in action for other opinions. And some people are scaring others.

Now listen up: Youtube DOES NOT replace real time jobs. It's rare and a myth that someone can actually quit jobs because he has actually acquired so much revenue to do this. There is no second Kevin Nalty. For some people without knowledge about Youtube partners, this is a system, which gives you money per click. At the end of an period, you will get a check, and you can pay it out on your banking account. All this works via Adsense. Not everybody is able to participate in this programme, some countries and Youtubers like you with the conditions like above are exempted. The actual value of a click is only 0.05 cents! Do you think that 100 clicks would make so much fortune? Only 5$. Adsense doesn't pay out until your total is 70$. You have to work hard and do hard things to get accepted.

In these terms, why are we on Youtube? To make money? NO! To have fun? YES! Money isn't earned (unless, you are in Hollywood) by doing small Youtube videos or copying them. Money is earned by going out and doing tough work. Tough work means: Going out, working, going home, repeating this for months and years and ages and receiving pay checks every month and feeding a family. In these days I've stopped to dream further about youtube partnership. Instead, I will improve the quality, the visual elements of my videos and other things. We will get really really arty. This is a virtual TV station designed for Canadians, which is supposed to be opened to other nations, too. Viewer counts have been revealed that Germany is a good view driver, and the USA is it too. Most subscribers are from the United States, second place goes to Canada and the third place is Germany.

In other words, we will stop begging for subscribers. We won't try to get money out of this thing. So the ads are also removed by now.

VIDEO ANNOUNCEMENT: FFM 2011 is avialable on CML's main channel

Hello folks,

during the catastrophic events in Japan, I happened to be in Frankfurt, it's news hit us on the second day. That's because I call the new style to edit my videos (new logo, new fonts and so on) "Sendai". As you may noticed, the voting (thumbs up/down) function has been disabled on all videos. Not because of thumb down movements against us, it's because of other media which doesn't have any thumbs (TV, Newspaper). Youtube has done everything to censor important comments, just when someone's comments have been thumbed down long enough. That's because I've also disabled the thumb-function for comments. Other TV-stations (ABC, CBS) on youtube are working against opinions and have been disabled comments on their videos.

We have changed our intention. We don't want to be partner of Youtube. Some partners are often very selfish and egoistic. They are putting smaller Youtuber in an unreachable position.  fame can't be earned over night, you have to have to have talent for that. Youtube was made for hobby films and filmmakers. People, this is a social network, you can do businesses on Ebay, not on Youtube. I'm not hunting for donations, I'm doing this in my free time. Youtube won't make you rich, except you are Kevin Nalty or Michael Buck. We have removed all ads from this blog. We are now merely welcoming all people visiting us.

Introducing "The Horse Ranch / Le Ranch des Cheveaux"-series

On Saturday, I've been on a farm, which had some horses, a duck, three dogs and other animals. I've got an idea on doing a TV-like series. On Monday, on 6PM/18:00 CET, I'll upload a video in this series.

Did you see the film: Bad cop, bon cop? This is the first bilingual film of Canada. "La coeur est en Québec, mais the feet are in Ontario." In this series, I'll do bilingual subtitles. This series will be run inregulary only.

En Samedi, je suis ête en un farm, qu'on as des chevaux, un canard, drois chiens et autre animaux. J'ai un idée pour faire un "TV" serie. En Mardi, en 18:00 CET, je viens mettre un film de cet serie sur Youtube. Que'est-ce que vous avez regardez le film "Bad cop, bon cop"? Cet le premier film biliguel de Canada. Often I give weeks and months in my productions (calculating the planing etc.). All my images and moving images are copyrighted by international law on my part. The images on some videos with credits, are cc-licensed by their owners (if credited other than "CML/CDP Archive"). If you want to use my footage or take embed it on a 3rd party website (Youtube is source, 1st party, this blog is 2nd party and your site is 3rd party), take your time and drop a private message on youtube or twitter.

Logo in detail

If you are an attorney, and you are seeing something unclear, we can talk in peace first. Just write an private message on youtube. I think that's the better way to avoid losing a lot of videos. The new CML logo is not  meant to manipulate. 

These logos are now currently in use by us and are not meant to appear on other sites for your advertisement. If you want to advertise us on other videos, ask us for a mediakit (in preperation).

Also the original background image of CanadianMapleLeaf01 "Canadian flag" will be in use on the Last.fm site. Don't bother to use it until 2038. These are examples of the new visual appearance. The quebec flag is not copyrighted in any way, the flag is taken from wikipedia.

We are changing the CML. Seen the new antenna logo? The wordmark is read like this: CML Canadian Broadcasting, CML Television du Canada or CML Kanadischer Rundfunk. We don't want to have something to do with CBC/Societé Radio Canada.

History of logos of the CML:

Second logo Blurring flag with new antenna logo 2011-

One failed approach was this logo. It made never made to air. Somewhere in 2009.

This logo should emphasis, that the size of a camera doesn't say about the quality of footage. This is the actual camera I'm using right now.

After the first Frankfurt film, I've discovered that the swimming effect is also seen in HD-movies. It was often seen in cellphone movies and movies with a lower framerate with fast movement. And the second reason, why I didn't use this logo, is that sometimes, the you can't really use the footage, especially, when you are visiting a really dark place, like a saltmine. If it is too bright for the camera, it's not good, like in so 31,000 ft on board of an aircraft. 

Yes, we are talking about cameras.

Aside of my operating Aiptek "HD"-Camera, we have got a 2006 Fujifilm, which can do also the filming, but it produces too big files. But it's a good camera, which is really durable and can go deeply into the detail.

But we are still improving skills and Camera setup. 

I might surprise you that I never learned professionally how to film and how to edit. I have a masterplan in my brain (music, cuts, effects in that order), Sony Vegas 9 Movie Studio helps me to come along. If I need special graphics, I'm doing it by myself with Photoshop CS2. 

I'm not a musician. For an video maker it's important to know the whereabout of important music sources. Some people on Youtube are getting suspended by using music ripped of from bought disks or acquired and converted from itunes. There are thousands over thousands of videos, where to download non-copyrighted music. (Remember after three strikes against the copyright, you're out).

Do you use a Mac? Don't look too deep into the web, it's right on your harddrive. A huge library installed by iLife (product of Apple Computer, inc) with sounds, loops and so on. All free to use.
